A soothing candlelit class designed for those who are new to yoga or returning after a break. In this gentle Vinyasa Flow, you’ll move through accessible sequences that build strength, balance, and flexibility while encouraging mindful breathing and body awareness. Each class offers space to explore alignment, flow at your own pace, and cultivate confidence in your practice. The soft candlelight creates a calming atmosphere, helping you release the day’s tension and settle into a sense of ease and inner stillness.

Yin yoga targets your deep connective tissues, like your fascia, ligaments, joints, and bones. It’s slower and more meditative, giving you space to turn inward and tune into both your mind and the physical sensations of your body. Because you’re holding poses for a longer period of time than you would in other traditional types of yoga, yin yoga helps you stretch and lengthen those rarely-used tissues while also teaching you how to breathe through discomfort and sit with your thoughts.

The practice of yin yoga is based on ancient Chinese philosophies and Taoist principles which believe there are pathways of Qi (energy) that run through our bodies. By stretching and deepening into poses, we’re opening up any blockages and releasing that energy to flow freely.

“A yin yoga sequence has a very similar effect on our energies as an acupuncture treatment,”  By holding the various poses, a yin yoga sequence can help restore the healthy flow of Qi in our bodies.

Here, the goal isn’t to move through postures freely–postures could be held for three to five minutes at a time. A yin practitioner is trying to access the deeper tissues, and many of the postures focus on areas that encompass a joint (such as the hips, sacrum, and spine, to name a few).

This is a restful practice that is all about slowing down and opening your body through passive stretching.  Restorative yoga supports the relaxation response through passive, receptive, and largely still postures.   In restorative yoga we learn to relax all muscular effort, allow our body to land on the earth completely and our breath to flow freely.  Very healing calming practice.  Everyone welcome.

Yin & Tonic

This Friday eve class is a blend of two styles of yoga into one practice Slow Flow Yoga warming and strengthening and Yin Yoga poses to calm the mind and passively stretch the connective tissues.  It Provides the perfect way to unwind and restore balance after a busy week, the class concludes with a guided meditation to quite the mind, enhance focus, and foster a lasting sense of calm.

All levels welcome no yoga experience needed.
